Welcome to the photo blog/portfolio of Andrew Smith by day I’m a Devops/Sysadmin type but also by day I take photos. This is my attempt to show the world how I’m getting on with my newly found hobby photography. I just love taking the camera out and clicking away, whether it’s creative, landscape, portrait, street or architecture as soon you put a camera in my hands I can’t stop snapping away.
I shot mostly with a Sony Alpha A6000, it’s not a by any means cutting edge but it suits my purposes. small and easy to carry but with interchangeable lens that gives it a high amount of versatility. You’ll also find a number of photos shot on my phone and prior to that a little Panasonic TZ10, proof if anything that the best camera is the one you have right now.
I don’t have a particular favourite style of photography, subject or special interest, I’ll take photos of anything, but I’ve recently found myself taking photos of the very building I reside in. Park Hill. Which you can find at my Tumblr and Instagram on the subject. The Brutalist architecture on display at Park Hill is special and I like to think I’m doing my part recording it’s regeneration and it’s many faces.
